Seeking Safety is a drop-in group to help people with PTSD, a history of trauma and /or a history of substance use/dependence attain safety. Adults 19 years of age and older can attend.
Seeking Safety is an evidence-based, present-focused curriculum designed to help people attain safety from PTSD and/or substance use. It is also helpful for those with a history of trauma but without a PTSD diagnosis. Safety is the overarching goal, with emphasis on helping people achieve safety in their relationships, thinking, behavior and emotions. There are a total of 25 different topics that can be attended in any order, as few or as many times as a person finds helpful.

Join us for Music Monday at the North Platte Area Children's Museum for part of a weeklong celebration of young children and their families called Week of the Young Child. Rooted in Relationships is sponsoring admission for families to enjoy some play time together at the Children's Museum. Receive information on how music supports your child's development. Children will receive a free egg shaker.

Week of the Young Child is a fun-filled week celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. To help celebrate, organizations from the High Plains Early Childhood Collaborative have created a week of fun activities for young children and their families. SAVE the DATES for April 5-12 and join us for a week of FREE fun!

Join us for a Block Party on Work Together Wednesday as part of our weeklong celebration of young children and their families called Week of the Young Child. UNL Extension is hosting this FREE event. Families will have the opportunity to play with at least 14 different types of blocks! By taking time to play with a variety of blocks, families will develop a better understanding of the many ways children learn by playing with blocks.

Join us in celebrating the Week of the Young Child! We will have local artists there to paint children's portraits on the Double Dips windows. There will also be sidewalk chalk available. Discounts on ice cream at Double Dips, and Artsy Ape Floats from Apeship. This event is sponsored by Healthy Families of America, Prairie Arts Center, and Communities for Kids Lincoln County.

Kids on the Bricks is back with a twist! This year we will hold our celebration at Cody Park. We are thrilled to feature a live performance by The String Beans, known for their engaging, family-friendly songs that inspire dancing and singing among all ages. Each show is hilarious, inclusive, and designed to get every audience dancing and singing along. Other activities include free food, live music, a scavenger hunt, face painting, sensory play, informational booths and much more!

Poverty Simulation is for professionals to experience the challenges faced by those in poverty. People will be grouped, given their life situation and living means, and will go around to tables with different circumstances. For example, a group of 5 has a financial limit of $1000/month. They will be presented with things like medical emergencies, utility shut off, legal encounters, etc. Register today!
